The Spying Epidemic
Fear of Intimacy & Surveillance In American Relationships

Thurs., May 29, 2008
, 7-9 PM

Our technology boom has brought many changes to our society and to our relationships. Ever scroll through someone else’s texts? Read someone’s e-mail? This workshop outlines how the use of surveillance feeds our fear of intimacy and creates distance from those closest to us, making us more lonely than before.

This workshop will discuss living with our fears of abandonment and intimacy and pushing past our desire to create barriers. Information about the latest tool of fear, surveillance technology, will be discussed. Underlying issues as well as societal factors will be outlined. It is the human condition to both crave intimacy and be terrified of it. Feel the fear and do it anyway!

Facilitated by: Anne K. Crothers, M. Ed.  Anne is in private practice here at Healing Works where she works with children, teens and adults.
